Yall don't sleep on NCAA indoor champion Melissa Jefferson (Coastal Carolina) and Julien Alfred (Texas). Anavia Battle (Ohio State) is another one to look out for.

Yep, all will be contenders. I am most familiar with Anavia Battle and I am wondering if she is injured or if the Ohio State coaches are just bringing her along slowly. She has not raced a lot this spring and has been a DNS in some events she was scheduled in. She did run 11.10 this past weekend at the Jesse Owens and although Ofili is list as the NCAA 200 record holder, don't forget that Battle has run just a hair faster at 21.95. That can't be counted as the NCAA record since it was run at the Olympic Trials.
I'm actually wondering if Steiner might be racing too much. She did seem to take it easy last weekend at the Kentucky meet so maybe her coaches are cutting back and tapering her a bit. With her significant injury of last season they more than likely monitor her closely. She has competed a lot, though, in the 100, 200, 4 x 100, and 4 x 400. That is a lot of heats and a lot of finals.
Agree, you can't discard those names. They are all great runners that have run fast times. They could put up a huge run at the perfect time.
But, based on their times, and the current trending, it seems Ofili and Steiner are clear favorites right now.

Favorites? Yes. Clear favorites? No
Go back and look at Anavia's performances on TFRRS prior to her uncorking a 21.95 at the Olympic Trials. Her 100 performances are perhaps a bit ahead of last year. It's really hard to know where she is in the 200 because she just has one this outdoor season and that was a
22.42 (0.4) at the Gamecock Invite on April 16. She just does not have enough 200 performances under her belt to know where she is but I would guess that she will contend for the NCAA title and will make a strong push to be on the Worlds team this summer. (note that her 21.95 is not listed on her TFRRS profile because it was not during NCAA competition.
The latest NCAA formchart from Track & Field News, published yesterday, is here. It is worth noting that Abby Steiner is listed as a junior but it seems most likely that this season is her last as a Wildcat and will turn pro immediately following the NCAA championship meet.

Some of these women mentioned here will be in action this weekend. LSU is having a big meet with Arkansas, Texas, and LSU all there. I am not sure who will be in what events but Ofili, Adeleke, Flannel, and Alfred will all be there. There shoudl be some good individual events and relays.
USC & UCLA have their big dual meet this upcoming weekend. So that is where Barnes will be.
Coastal Carolina is running at an invite at North Florida. Jefferson is slated to run the 100, 4x100, and 4x400.
Kentucky is at the Drake Relays and Steiner looks like she is having a light weekend. That is probably a good thing. I commented above that she seems like she has been racing a lot but this weekend Abby is only in the 4x100, and the rarely contested 4x200. That is an odd event and it is also being run at Penn.
Anavia Battle looks like she has a really busy weekend and I would be surprised if she competes in all that she is slated to. After this weekend we should have a better picture of where she is. Battle is listed in the 100, 4x100, 4x200, SMR, and the 300. That is a lot even though the SMR and 300 do not have heats. I eager to see how she does.
Oregon is at an invite at Oregon State. Unsure about what Nelson is competing in. I'm also unsure about the others.
The 4x200 is really an odd event but I guess it is tradition at Penn and Drake. It is one of my least favorite track events.
Thanks for that information.
Kentucky's splits in the 4x100 qualifying heats today
11.94, 10.00, 10.81. 10.92
Shadajah Ballard, Abby Steiner, Dajour Miles, Karimah Davis
That 1st leg split in the 4x100 is always a bit misleading. Still, Steiner was moving as so was Grace Nwokocha of NC AT&T who turned a 10.20
I saw the video. Steiner has some wheels. She reminds me of Michael Johnson.
Great women’s sprint field at LSU today.
Ofili is running the relay and the 100, but not the 200.
Both are loaded, especially the 100.
Blaylark, Prandini, Ofili, Hobbs, and a few others.
Tremendous field; might see some great times.
Mboma ran 10.97 and 21.87 both wind legal times in Gaberone today. I'm curious to see if ofili can run faster in the 100 later today.
Favour Ofili 10.93secs.
Smokin’!
Wind legal?
Steiner only ran in the heats of the 4x100 at Drake. She was to have run in the 4x200 but did not. Kentucky was a DNS for the 4x100 finals so hopefully she is not injured again.
Yup.
Hopefully. Can't wait for the match up between them.

They did that(run prelim scratch final) a few times during indoor as well. Just preserving her for when it counts
Times not as good as I thought they might be.
Ofili looked good in 10.96, but nobody else under 11 seconds.
200 was won by Prandini but 22.45- nothing great. Ofili did not run.
mens 100 was a 9.79 by Favour Ashe, but he had a 3.0 wind.
Dont think anyone else cracked 10.
Correction on my earlier statement of 10.96
Ofili 10.93. +2.0 wind.
