I don't think most of you understand the English language and therefore did not grasp the subtle point. Distance is the space between two things. What is the distance between the last word of this sentence and the question mark? It is a few millimeters. The distance that somebody runs could be 60 meters or 200 meters or 5000 meters. Those are all different distances. There are short distance runners and long distance runners and middle distance runners. They all run varying distances.
