What about Armin Hary. Didn\'t he run 10.0 (HT) in the 1960s? This was the ER for years.

Armin Hary, Dave Simmes and Bobby Joe Morrow (to my thinking) would all have had legit. cahnces at sub10s on synthetic surfaces.
There are unsubstantiated claims that Jon Gill ran a 9.95 in his cell the first night he spent in prison.
I know they never went sub10 but do you think Sergei Bubka (PV WR) and J Edwards (TJ WR) could run in the 100 if they had trained for it?

How is the list out of date? They have 2005 performances on there.
The list has Francis Obikwelu at 10.01 when, in fact, he ran 9.86 in 2004.
What about Armin Hary who was supposed to have been the first sprinter ever to run the 100 in 10 seconds?
He won the 100 gold in 1960, but was suspended soon after by his federation for some form of dishonesty.
I suppose his 10 seconds was hand timed in those days.
It is widely known fact that it is a physiological impossibility for a white man to break the 10 second barrier. It would be foolhardy and possibly dangerous to attempt such a feat. They would surely die.
Hary ran 10.0 / 10.25 in Zurich in 1960. I'm assuming it was a cinder-type surface.
Too bad Jermey Bloom is skiing. he probably could do it with proper training and coaching.
Someone with credibility in the science side of high perf T+F (within some Commonwealth countries at least) once mentioned to me on this subject to look at the bone/muscle structure of most of the sub 10.00 guys focusing solely on the knee downwards, and then consider it in the context of their overall musculature. Interesting observation,I'm not in a sufficiently clued up position on human anatomy to know more.

How about probably not. The guy's best 100m is 10.75
I know Nicolas Macrozonarius of Canada once broke 10 seconds. I believe the wind was just over IAAF regulations though and was not counted towards a legitimate time!
Letsrephrase the question, just for fun:
"How many whites have broken 10.00?"
This shouldn't take long...
Patrick Johnson's mother is Aboringal and his father is not only white but Irish too!!!!. In my book that certainly makes him 'non-black'

Actually the wind was between two and three times over the legal limit. He had a hurricane blowing up his ass.
Actually Marian Woronin did run 9.99+ but his time was rounded up to 10.00
In fact... wrote:

So only people who are 100% pure african can be considered to be black? In that case then almost no 'black' men have broken 10s, because just about every one has got some kind of 'white' blood in them.
If you guys don't think aborigines are black then come down to Australia and tell a couple. They will be pretty surprised.
There's a couple of your non-black Aborigines on this page, have a look.

And I always thought we were a convict settlement for English criminals back in the back a couple of centuries.
How fast did the Scot Alan Wells run in 1980 when he won the Olympic Gold Medal the year the US boycotted. Thought I read once he was the only "white" for many years to have broken 10 sec. Maybe I was wrong. Other than the fact he was Olympic Champion I'm not sure of any other fact.
