That would be great. I don’t think I’m that fit right now to be honest. Like the other poster said 69s may be a lil faster than my true mile pace but my coach said in a few months that could change with more exposure to those paces

I agree with the other estimates of current 4:45-4:50 fitness. That is not enough for 16:20, but you seem to be progressing well and have a good coach, so you may get there eventually.

You’re right if I had to guess i think I could go 16:40 at best right now it’s going to take a lot more work hopefully by April/may I’ll be ready

Another solid workout in the books for me. 5x800 w/ equal rest. Ran 2:30/2:30/2:29/2:29/2:30. felt tough but like I had an extra gear if I needed it.
Nice, in my experience this workout is consistent roughly with 4:45-4:50, 16:50-17:00 shape.

If someone can run sub 5 min pace for 800 repeats and can only muster a 16:50 they’re grossly underperforming. I’ve known girls to run 16:20 and can’t do 800 repeats at that pace with equal rest and they also had 1500 pbs under 4:30.
I read your whole thread and mid d is way off, Maybe it’ll take you a few races but I definitely think 9:30 3k and 4:40-4:45 for mile is very much within your range especially since we are still in XC season and you have months to continue to develop but I would stay focused on XC for now. I respect everyone’s opinion and of Course ultimate trust myself and my coach. I do think it would be rather odd if I only ran 16:50 as last year I ran 17:06 and had an injury ridden XC season and was no where near the shape I am in now. I am definitely setting the bar high as this is my last go around in college.
