My point is that saying „I did it so you should be able to also“ is just a way of propping yourself up. When other people fail because you were born with better running genetics, you can roll your eyes at their averageness.
When people post something similar to this OP, if I think it's possible, I'll say yes and try to give an example from my own experience, to support that argument. If I think it's impossible, I'll say so.
My intent with my post was not to "prop" myself up, as there's nothing to prop up. I'm 100% hobby jogger to the core and I'm the first to admit my running genetics and performances are nothing special. I have no noteworthy running records or accomplishments other than I enjoy it, it makes me happy and I want to get better at it.
The best use of this forum, in my opinion, is for us to all help each other as runners. If it doesn't at least do that, it's not worth coming to.
