at peak, there were other races with cram when he was smashed physically.
none the less, blood doping was a major thing in 1980. and in Europe it was rampant.
during this period, english athletics is all quiet. it is reasonable to speculate, but there is only the toxoplasmosis thing coe had, other than that there's not much to go by, as opposed to current athletes who are surrounded by PEDs, coach, agent, busted athletes... and signature PED behavior.
check it, coe stumbled a bit, but was good to go soon after for a nice jog. versus the ethopian chick that was ready to party hard.
