Only because we somehow started separating competitions based on "identified with gender" rather than "biological sex at birth" which seems a somewhat better way to do it if you value fair competition. Puberty blockers are one option that is available to trans individuals, but to state that trans girls are on puberty blockers as a hard and fast rule is nonsense. Hormones, top surgery, bottom surgery, etc. are all options that are available, but each individual chooses on their own whether/which to make use of. Someone can be trans and not have any medical intervention.

And it’s clear that you don’t know anything about biology. What I said is a fact.

Anything after that is your explanation of how, with the right adjustments, you think a male may be able to lessen his natural advantage. I’m not here to debate that. I’m simply stating that trans girls are males. Hard stop. This isn’t debatable.

Point out any untrue statement I have made. You claim that biological males are equivalent to biological females. This is patently untrue. This article is behind the pay wall, so I cannot read it.

Bur if I am not mistaken, both trans girls got slower in their senior season (their HRT was kicking in), and Ms Mitchell beat both of them to win the state and New England titles. So she WAS the fasted girl in Connecticut whether trans girls were included or not.

She is also on D1 scholarship (William & Mary), while the two trans girls are not competing in college.

So congratulations to Ms Mitchell on her great achievement, and best of luck on her college career.

Trans women will be at a disadvantage competing as men but banned from competing as women. Trans men will be advantaged against women and so will face calls to be banned also.

You essentially get a cis women division and then a division for cis men, trans men and trans women. Which ignores the relative advantages and disadvantages that trans people have. No where have I seen anyone argue what's fair for trans people.

If puberty blocker becomes the standard practice, this problem can simply go away. But we haven't reached there yet, and the same people who are trying to ban trans athletes from women's sports are also trying to ban puberty blockers.

Until major women pro athletes are willing to speak up against TG competition in their events, it's an issue controlled by the social agenda grouping.

This is not a black and white issue or name calling someone as “transphobic”. This is about fair sports. The governing bodies need to find a way for transathletes to participate, while also protecting the women’s category. Have an Open Category with men and transathletes. Give awards for the different transathletes (male to female, female to male).

You are right. How indeed. My post was impulsive daydreaming, my way of avoiding trying to figure out a very tough issue. I'm struggling to keep my enthusiasm for organized runnin competition. PEDs were bad enough. Now we have sex chemistry and sociology to contend with. Maybe hobbyjogging is really the best option.

Here is a fact: when these athletes registered for the meet, someone asked them for their gender. They put down female. They were allowed into the meet to compete in the female category.

That should have been the end of it.

This happened in CONNECTICUT. Over 75% white. 10% black. 15% other. What's your point?

Girls in high school had to compete against "male bodies" as the young lady who wrote the article put it. That's the issue here.
