In articles in RW and Trailrunner Magazine there was info that said Scott does 100-120mpw with an emphasis on elevation gain.
Back to back saturday/sunday runs of 35 and 30 miles both with elevation gains/losses in the 8000-10000' range.
Also, a 24 mile run where he repeats the same 4 miles up and down (8 miles round trip) three times that gains 3000' or so in those 4 miles.
Thanks,
Please keep the info coming.
every little bit helps.
I emailed Scott (via his website) regarding consultation, but haven't heard anything as of yet.
How do you find out about camps/clinics?
isn't a 68% grade impossible to run up? maybe with crampons. or am i just full of it?

Whereas Jurek is generally thought of (on letsrun) as a no-talent, not-a-real runner sort of person--I don't think you are supposed to question anything Carpenter does.
After all, 68 percent is "only" 30.6 degrees--how difficult can that be, eh?
The person looking for Jurek information--try
http://www.scottjurek.comJurek is not that great or good. Find out what M. Carpenter, Dave Mackey, and Karl Meltzer do! Yikes bro or sis!
Okay,
Who knows what Mackey and Meltzer do?
Meltzer? Not even in the same league as these other guys. He was barely top 10 at Pikes Peak this year. I guess he's done well at Hardrock, but come on, that race really is just a glorified hike.
The incline is 68% for only a short stretch...it averages "only" 41% for the whole thing...gaining 2000 feet in a mile. Matt's PR up it is 18:35, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't train on it anymore because of all of the private property/trespassing controversy surrounding it. But, I've seen him--with my own two eyes--running up it. It's possible.
Metztler won Wasatch this year> In those pictures of that hill it looks like there are steps carved into it???
Damn, Jurek is EXPENSIVE!
Yes he is.

The hill is an old cog railway. The steps are actually railroad ties. I know of only 3 people who were able to run the whole way up.
What an ignorant comment. To you, being vegan equals arrogant. What an arrogant thing to say. Also, he did a lot.of training, not just high mileage. You jealous and hate successful people like most Americans.
Ate those words didn't you? No, Jurek was and is one of the most accomplished ultra runners of all time.
You must've been trolling. "Hard rock" a glorified hike. Gtfo.
What a ridiculous and confusing training routine that was. S*** just tell me mileage, days, and hours.
It was like the same bored troll expressing a negative attitude about Jurek.
Thanks for wasting my time, f****** troll.
Drinking again scott?
I’m sure his training consists of shuffling along the streets, or some half-hearted jog-shamble over some trails. That’s what ultra running is anyway.
