What concerns me is that you are not supportive of my writing style and yet you are concerned with my support for Nikki. I support Nikki’s right to be gender fluid. Hell I may wake up tomorrow feeling like an elephant but they probably won’t make me a zoo exhibit. More likely they’d think I had a mental illness. But I am supportive of Nikki’s right to wake up tomorrow feeling as if she is Hulk Hogan or maybe Bo Derek. It is all good.

I am so happy and supportive to see Nikki Hiltz being so authentic and honest about who they are, how fluid that can be day to day, and sharing that with the world.

Typically discussions here related to this topic centre around athletes who are biologically born male/have XY chromosomes but for various reasons (whether that's through choice to identify with another gender or more complicated issues related to disorders of sexual development) end up competing in female events.

I would be super interested to hear Nikki Hiltz's thoughts on this area since they seem to be one of the more rare athletes who seems to have come out as being born female, yet sometimes identifies as male. What does Nikki think about e.g Caster Semenya or Celce Telfer competing in female track?

Rojo, I know you have strong thoughts related to this topic - as do I. Would love to hear some more of your thoughts related to this, and is there any chance to get Nikki on a future podcast or message board AMA (if the latter it probably needs to be moderated knowing the message board) to have a frank and honest conversation related to this. Unlike Caster and Celce, who in my opinion have a conflict of interest because they benefit from identifying as females when being born with XY chromosomes , Nikki seems to have a unique and opposite perspective (assuming she is born with XX chromosomes and is choosing to identify as male some days)

I would be very interested in hearing her thoughts on this topic as well. I have to admit I am somewhat confused (and this is 100% my own ignorance), but I believed that if you were transgender that meant you were either transitioning or soon-to-be transitioning...I didn't realize that it also just meant that you identify as male/female/or both-neither.

Anyway, I have no issue with Nikki coming out and wish her all the best. But like a few posters said, I'm not really sure why she needs to come out and state it publicly. Maybe Nikki feels empowered by doing so, and good on her if thats the case.

I don't have an issue with anyone's gender' preference, honestly I really don't care.

Are you sure? Can she identify, then, as a member of another species? Can she identify under pronouns such as she/they or he/they or even simply they? If so, might we be required to provide her with multiple ballots in elections?

The way we were conditioned to think of gender is very cultural. We were brought up in Western, European culture that had a defined gender binary. Many many cultures around the world including native culture does not.

Remembering this helps me square Nikki's post. It's not for me to understand, but with that being said...this one was a bit...challenging to understand. But just because I can't wrap my mind around how a person wakes up feeling like a woman one day, and feeling like a man on another doesn't make it less valid! It's just something that I haven't felt before. I'd genuinely be curious to hear more about those feelings, how they originate, and where they come from to learn more.

With this being said, I do agree with Rojo on the sport thing. I have to. It genuinely makes sense.

Gender is absolutely a social construct. But so are sports.

Also, why was this person racing against women? That should be considered oppressive to women in sport, assuming this person had a testosterone level similar to a man. I dont know the details, could be off base, just analyzing the scenario of possible unfair physiological advantage.

Untrue. In all cultures most individuals are simply male or female. It is a social construct based in biology.

Yes this is true. Actually doctors have written reports on this, but most of it has been cancelled/censored from the internet and public. Usually "traumatic" childhood experiences , low self worth, which lead to poor experiences that enable the pattern of negative thinking and subsequent cognitive distortions to manifest and alter the chemical balance in the brain. Cant really blame the individual because we are a product of our (childhood) environment. It really is fascinating how childhood shapes adults.

She probably made a statement like that because she's somewhat in a public eye/a known person and it's easier than explaining to everyone, when it might get misquoted/misrepresented. I'd imagine it's simply easier to write one statement about it. However, if I felt like that (sort of between being female and male) I wouldn't type in so many details, but maybe that's just me.

But generally speaking this whole "non-binary" movement baffles me. It's quazi-religious. Who cares if you fit exactly into your perception of society's gender norms? Some women are more masculine. Some men are very feminine. Some days it depends. Who cares? Just be you. Why are SJWs so obsessed with labeling and identifying everything? I've seen more lesbians become trans over the past year than I ever could have imagined. What's wrong with just being a lesbian?

Yeah, I completely agree with this. It's like they're shoving characteristics into 'male' and 'female', it's really stereotyped in a way.

I work with a non-binary person. They are married to a woman. They are a teacher, so rather than being Mr. or Mrs., they use the title Mx. (pronounced “mix”). If 100 people looked at them and had to say whether they were a man or a woman, I think you would less than 70% saying one or the other based on the outfit.
