I am confused.
I thought most in Utah are Mormons and have 4 wives.
I can't imagine anybody has time there to watch porn.

You can't stop wanking. It's normal.
Trafficking in human beings is illegal and that is a good thing, but it is a different issue than pornography.

Anyway, who dictates what porn is or isn't?
This was my first thought.
While beastiality may be porn to one person, showing an ankle in public might be to another. The point being that there is no one definition of most things in life. And I don't have enough confidence in the integrity of public officials to make that determination for the public.
I wonder how many, if any, of those making decisions on this consulted their constituents in any way or just "know what is best" for everyone else.

I don’t like this, seems like cancel culture.
The Right Wing is really out there on the fringe.

How will this block be implemented? If I live in Utah and I buy a tablet online from somewhere else is the seller responsible for blocking the sites?
This seems completely unenforceable. And what will be the penalty for violators?
Exactly, just buy it online or drive up to Idaho to buy one that's porn-ready. The only benefit to this I see is that it's easier to keep it away from underage youth. But it just winds up like any other prohibition and seems likely to get struck down in the courts, if it even passes.

Fine wit Sir Stewart!
I guess when the only thing your wife is wearing is a Richard Nixon mask, it does not qualify!

Exactly. Dr Seuss is offensive, but porn is artistic expression and does not exploit or stereotype anyone.
Mormons are authoritarian zealots. Might as well live in China as Utah. At least you can get booze in China without getting on a blacklist.
You people just got trolled by the state of Utah. Come one, read the third paragraph: "The measure won’t go into effect unless five other states enact similar laws."
This is all legislative drama so politicians who understand there's nothing to be done can look like they're doing something. There's no way this law stands any chance of coming into effect in the first place. Try not to be such suckers for a headline.
These filters will only ban new porn.
So existing porn can be recycled, and the Mormons can become porn-again Christians.
What's next? Banning the byu distance ladies from wearing bun huggers?

This man knows too much 😂
These authoritative cucks are trying to prohibit a natural human phenomenon and condition. They ought to burn in hell.
Well all I can say is I hope you have a good imagination when cracking one out in Utah. Maybe they will change one of the college mascots to the Horn Dogs or the Boners.
Take THAT Osmond family!
Porn gives new fresh ideas for really good sex with your partner, spice things up and all...Why would religious people view that as unethical?
Don't agree with the policy, but this is largely a symbolic gesture. It ponders to the conservative mormon base. The law would only kick into action if the surrounding states join in, which of course would never happen.
Basically this is nothing more than an eye grabbing headline. The law has no teeth, and never will. Nothing will ever come of it.
But I'm sure y'all will continue to be outraged without actually looking into the actual details. The media is manipulating your lizard brains. They want you outraged. They are controlling your emotions with outrageous clickbait.
This bill is literally is nothing more than an overture to the conservative political base and will have no real world consequences whatsoever.
