Interestingly, we so often hear of them jogging at a slow pace, yet at least on long runs they are doing 4:00/km (6:26/mile) pace. While it’s not a hard pace, it’s certainly not jogging.

It has nothing to do with being a victim, but everything to do with being a “victim”. It’s because these people in America are not victims, that’s the entire point, if they went to another culture they would see how great they have it here

You’re not getting it. It’s the very definition of what we’re calling mistreatment. How many angry customers did she have to deal with? How many high pressure sales did she have where her job depended on it? How many times was she in an operating room trying to save someone’s life? NONE. She was able to train and be a paid athlete and yet being pushed to be the best was somehow so awful, what a terrible life she had. That’s why I’m saying, go live somewhere else and maybe you might change your definition of mistreatment.

Didn't Sammy Wanjiru (I guess) said in an interview that the japanese takes training too seriously, "they train too religiously", he said.

That's why they will never be as good as the east africans, because running for them is just a profession, a mission or something. Meanwhile the east africans see it not just as a way out of poverty but also as a lifestyle and something that they enjoy doing as a group.

So by your logic, if I didn’t get the same size ice cream as another customer, I am now mistreated and people should feel sorry for me. Because any mistreatment that is personally felt must be mistreatment. And we wonder what’s wrong with these super liberal areas

I've heard comments like jason 00 made for decades. Back in the 80s when they were crushing us people were saying it was because we rebuilt their economy after the war and build them advanced steel mills that we can't compete with. It is a remarkable argument; we couldn't build these for ourselves? And in the 80's are these 30 year old steel mills why they are eating our lunch? And now the excuse is that they would be indigenous society without what we gave them 300 years ago? Just wow.

Interesting article. It's cool that she was able to take away some many positives from something that many would say was harsh. Now, contrast that with the lady who wrote the blog post about, "how terrible the Boston Marathon is."

Shouldn't we find out why she got punched first? If you care for equality and she had attacked me and I punched her back, Shouldn't I be the victim in this case? Or just because women get gang raped in el salvador I should just get punched in the face and not defend myself?
