taste - 50%
texture - 20%
versatility - 20%
appearance/color/uniqueness - 10%
1. Mango
2. Cherry
3. Blueberry
4. Peach
5. Raspberry
6. Strawberry
7. Pear (but only from certain varietals. This one was tough)
8. Orange (most varietals)
9. Apples (certain varietals)
10. Pineapple
The following fruits are completely overrated:
Banana
Plum
Grapefruit
Watermelon
Agree? Disagree? Shocked? I'll take any questions you have.
Not bad, not bad. I would put raspberry at #2, then put cherry into the overrated pile. I would also switch banana with strawberry and plum (the red kind, not the super tart yellow ones) with apple. Then I would put pineapple into the overrated pile and add cantaloupe to the list.
I live in one of the main fruit growing regions of the US, so some of the stuff you guys say is blase, I find actually very tasty when it comes right off the tree. I've got a Cara Cara Orange tree, two nectarine trees and an apricot tree....all totally scrumptious, even if they are "average fruits"
As far as tropical fruits....I haven't seen star fruit get a nod on here yet. Those are quite good.
Let's start talking health benefits of each/nutrition, and then i may have something to say.
Taste and preferences based therein? Whatever you say.
I stopped reading after you ranked cherry as number 2. Unfortunately I actually didn’t stop reading, but I really should have. Worst post ever probably.
Also nutrition value and practicality of inclusion in diet should have been factors, bringing banana into top ten.
nobody with durian..
I completely agree value and practicality should be included. But one could do a ranking of fruits just focused on taste as well. Don’t shii on watermelon that stuff is so good. Also don’t sleep on cantaloupes if you get a good one, oh mannnn. Cherry belongs nowhere near 2 wtf man?! But to this poster nah banana is not a top ranking fruit solely on taste. Clementines >>>> oranges. Nectarines also very good. Fvck oranges amiright? Good convo tho to op thanks for bringing this up I’ll be thinking about my favorite fruits now.
Kiwi berries (cold hardy kiwis) are awesome.
So is Orange Flesh Honeydew Melon. It's way better than cantaloupe or honeydew melon.

Fraud! Blueberries at number 3? No way.
1. Peach
2. Concord Grapes
3. Raspberry
4. Pineapple
4. Banana
5. Strawberry
6. Cherry
7. Kiwi
8. Mango
9. Tangerine
10. Apple
11. Watermelon
You can't eat the other fruits, but people should like peaches.
Avocado toast is my favorite fruit.
Watermelon 🍉 Plug a hole in it, add a bottle of grain alcohol, it will be the best fruit ever
The problem with strawberries is you can get them year round at the super market and those strawberries are garbage.
Fresh strawberries you picked yourself, warmed by the summer sun, that melt in your mouth are really fantastic. Easily up there will mangos challenging for the #1 spot.
As others have said, you are really missing some fruits less common in America. Guava can be sublime. Passion fruit, lychee, persimmons are all great.

No papaya?? Kiwi?
I just ate a kiwi 🥝. The spoon sort of ripped it apart. I like em but are they worth the trouble.
Avo, tomato, blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, grapes, canteloupe, grapefruit, banana.
I eat an orange every night and at least four other fruits every day. Here is my ranking, noting that some of these fruits aren't so good in their off-season (strawberries in winter, apples outside of the fall, etc.) I recognize that tomatoes and avocados are fruits and I like them, but I am not ranking them because they should be vegetables.
1. oranges
2. blueberries
3. nectarines
4. watermelon
5. cherries
6. peaches
7. pineapple
8. grapes
9. tangerines
10. plums
Honorable mention: strawberries, cantaloupes, bananas, apples, kiwis
If it weren't for the seeds, raspberries would be tops.

I agree with your list except I'd swap cherries and mango. Nothing better than good cherries to me. Also, what do you think about apple bananas? Super tasty...
This may be my favorite ever Letsrun post. Also a fruit connoisseur here.
For all commenters/posters - don't think of the average fruit you get at the store (especially if you don't live in California) think of the best piece of every fruit you've ever had. Cherries from an orchard, a juicy peach from the tree or in the recently picked bushel, crisp apple/pear from an orchard in fall, handfulls of firm and slightly tangy blueberries, pineapple from Hawaii or the famous Antigua Black pineapple, Ataulfo mango from a tree in Mexico (or juicy Thailand mangos weighing down branches falling to the ground dripping). Perfect Cara Cara orange, fresh picked strawberries and raspberries warm from the sun.
1 Passion Fruit
2 Raspberry
3 Blood orange
4 Wood strawberry
I have about a half dozen different fruits each week year round, trying whenever possible to have them when in season locally, as opposed to being shipped from the Southern Hemisphere, the Equator region. a cold storage warehouse or a greenhouse. I really don't dislike any fruit (don't get me started on nuts, as some are awful), but I was surprised how many people put raspberries in their top 5. To me it has to do with the best of each fruit I've ever had. The best peaches, apples, grapes, and pears were spectacular and so different than ordinary ones. The best raspberries I've ever had were just very good. Same with blueberries. Bananas have a top end that is low (even off of the tree in Central America), but are healthy and inexpensive where I live, even though picked far too early for shipping. I worked for a time for a very large international fruit shipping company and find it true that although the best product that is shipped is better than most, it never competes with handpicked at the right time where it is grown most successfully.
