    He was from nearby Kingsburgh, the only black family in town at that time, one of my relatives a neighbor. He has talked about how the Johnsons were so nice and great neighbors.

    His brother Jim also a track stud, won the NCAA long jump and could hurdle, and in the pro football HOF, a Niner cornerback.

    A bit surprised Yang beat Rafer in the hurdles, Rafer was world ranked there.
