Jama Aden is a coach, not a manager. And I haven't seen him as the coach of any Ugandans, and he goes more towards middle distance runners than long-distance specialists. His most notable athletes were Genzebe Dibaba, Abubaber Kaki (retired), Taofik Makhloufi (left him some years ago), world junior champ Hamza Driouch (banned), and Ayanleh Souleiman.

John Akii-Bua was Uganda's only Olympic Gold Medalist and Dorcas Inzikuru was Uganda's only World Champion until Stephen Kiprotich somehow won and held both at the same time.

Success breeds success. Kiprotich's success has given encouragement to a generation of kids. Some of them have now surpassed their hero.

Fun fact: Inzikuru's coach was Renato Canova.

Stephen Kiprotich is not related to Wilson Kiprotich who took Bronze behind Stephen at London 2012.
