They're currently $7.99, which is, sadly, a 60% increase in price from when I bought mine last fall for $4.99... but yeah. 8 bucks. For a pair of running shorts. They're not the fanciest shorts I've ever had... but they have a liner, a drawstring, and a key pocket. Not sure what else you need. I ordered five pairs, had them shipped to an Outside relative right before I visited (since they don't ship to AK). Good times.

Yeah, I was politely dubious at first - because, c'mon, $5 for a pair of shorts, really? - but I thought for those prices, it wouldn't hurt to give them a try.
And I've been really pleasantly surprised. Do they work quite as well as my Patagonia trail running shorts? Well, no. But do the Patagonia shorts ($65) work 13x better? Also no.
They're relatively thin, but durability seems fine. Anything over an hour, I might need a gel, and many people would need a phone, and there's not space for either in the bare-bones 5-buck version. (I have some of their trail running shorts, 20 bucks-ish, and their pockets are fine for more stuff.) But for morning shakeout jog, quick runs, anything less than a full-on long run - which for me, and I think for any of us, constitute a huge percentage of total time running - they're great.
Also, I live in Alaska. I wear liner gloves literally >half the year, sometimes on their own and sometimes under something else. I bought a few pairs of their liner gloves on a whim, because they cost LESS THAN TWO DOLLARS (per pair). They work great. $1.99. For gloves.
Anyway, sorry to ramble, but I'm a fan. Would recommend.

You have male anatomy. It is July 22 in the United States. You do not need a shirt to run right now. If you do need a shirt to run right now, you need a) self confidence and b) a core routine.
I have an slab shirt and it is totally worth it. I don’t have the NSO version so can’t comment on that one. I got it on sale in the spring and it has been a godsend in the heat. It’s the only shirt that I’ve ever worn that feels cooler than going shirtless. It’s amazing.

Most of my sport clothing comes from Decathlon too. Some seasons it utter rubbish and I have to wait for Nike to have a sale for shorts - but most years it the Decathlon stuff - which lasts years.
One year they decided they wouldn't sell any shorts with a liner - nothing, only those with compression short shorts builtin - glad that fad has finished!
Not sure I would spend serious money on daily training gear, it stinks eventually and quickly loses its 'fresh' look from sun damage and wear. Some of these brands are taking the biscuit with the pricing - especially as it all sourced from overseas.
I have a closet full of Nike Dry-fit running gear. The whole lot was purchased over time for maybe 25 bucks total at Goodwill. The key is to look in the swimsuit section- normally the running shorts get thrown in with them and thus no one looks.
Anyway, shocked when people spend 40 bucks on a pair of running shorts. As Macklemore would say, “I call that getting tricked by business.”
