But I got Bolt's split at 8.6

I think Bolt should always run anchor... the taller/bigger you are the harder it is to stop you. That theory isn't conducive with Bolt on the curve. Powell is a brilliant curve runner though but i would have him second leg.

How could you not think it was possible? Every guy on the team has run sub 10 for 100 meters. Also it wasn't Pattons fault, he got elbowed in his nuts coming off the turn, let me see you try to exchange a baton at full speed after catching a flying elbow in the nuts.

No way. 8.9 is too slow. He ran 8.7 at Penn relays which last leg is running a slight bend AND a straight.

I'm pretty confident that was the fastest anchor leg we've ever seen.

sub 37 is up next for the Jamaicans. Bolt and Blake are not even close to their prime yet. Its going to be scary and definitely the stuff of legend.

Here's a thought:

Jamaica is the biggest bunch of scumbags in track, right up there with the Mo Greene-led American dickwads a decade ago.

Frater doesn't even make the 100m semi's, yet blazes the second leg.

Carter jogs a 10.95 in the 100m finals, yet runs a WR-worthy first relay leg.

The only bright spot was that Powell didn't run.

I believed they would win and come close to a WR, only with a slightly different team--I thought they'd have Powell instead of Frater, when Powell was still "in".

Also, I picked them for the win, and France for second in the event that Patton ran for the US--right again. The only thing I screwed up on was that I had Germany for 3rd(!).

I must say, that this was the best top-end sprinting form I think I have ever seen from Bolt, as opposed to really fast running. His coach must have kicked his ass this past month, especially after having asked him if he had forgotten how to run after one of his early 100m meets this year.

But Frater and Carter, give me a break. Pure crap. I've always known that Carter was crap, but now Frater too, along with Mullings?

Just like anybody under 9.80 is suspect based on nothing more than historical statistics, now for me anybody on the Jamaican team is suspect by association.

Let's hear it for France, the real World Champions in the 4x100m.

Too bad for T&T and GBR. The race would have been great without the crap Jamaicans, and without the fall.

It would have been France, USA, GBR, T&T all battling it out down the anchor leg, that would have been great to have seen.

I was surprised that Jamaica put Frater 2nd and Blake 3rd, I would have had it the other way around.

The USA would like us to believe that M. Johnson went 8+ years and not lose a 400m or 200m without some assistance.

Edwin Moses ran in over 100 400m hurdles race in 11 years and not lose without assistance. The list goes on and on, the list even includes Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

I could care-less if the Jamaicans are doping, whatever it is that they are on is like an aspirin compared to an Oxy-Codon in relation to what the USATF gives to their athletes.

Again guys the biggest camp in Jamaica(MVP) and the authorities in Jamaica are always at war. MVP question their amateur approach to running the sport.

You have the President of the JAAA actually banning some of our best runners from the Olympics and the previous WC in Berlin. Yes Beijing and Berlin would not have happened if it was up to our athletic authorities in Jamaica. The same authorities you claim are running the secret systemic doping program.

You guys know nothing about Jamaica!

Again guys it is our school system and the fact that we are keeping our best athletes at home and not losing them in the NCAA system. The amount of talent that received scholarship to the USA in the past that faded away are in hundreds. Those days are over!!!

Since everyone else is suspected of doping, why is this the first time I've seen anybody raise suspicion about Lemaitre? HUGE improvement...and that usually raises a red flag for anyone on these boards. Just because he's white? But, I thought real Americans hated the French.

Personally, I don't have an opinion about him any more than I do about many of the other top runners. I'm just putting in a call for equal opportunity skepticism.
