That fence line shot was (sorry)hilarious! The workers should be commended for keeping the finish line clear by dragging them off. Wow.

Looks like the finish line of most women's races. Lots of fainting, crawling, and crying. When you get lots of drama queens in one place, you get shots like the fence line.

I do feel bad for the Michigan girl, though. The same thing happened to her at Footlocker NE last fall. Hopefully it's not the same medical condition and she'll be back to form soon.

Reminds me of 2001 D3 Nationals, when a guy from Loras was in like 4th with 200 to go, fell down like 6 times, and ended up rolling across the finish line in like 100th place.

ordinarily i'd agree with you . . . but that's more drama queens than i've ever seen at the end of a race. usually you get 2-3. i don't think i've ever encountered that kind of carnage. was it hot during this race? was the kool-aide tainted?

can black and brown and yellow people run in the women's white race?

This seems to happen to Danielle Tauro at every race. At the USATF Junior Nationals she was running with Jordan Hasay and down the final straight started to stumble and wobble to the finish.

But what is the deal with supposedly healthy division 1 major college women runners? Can't they finish without looking like they're going to die? Was there a lack of oxygen in Indiana that day?

you are seriously an asshole. "that michigan girl" is danielle tauro a girl who ran sub 4:40 as a junior in highschool but was plagued with some weird disease and could never finish a race. have a f***ing heart asshole. the face that she still ran low 21's and finished like that should open your eyes to what she could of run, cause she had a deadly kick in highschool. i was hoping she would red shirt this year, but i really do hope everything works out for her.

First, yeah, LoL @ all that collapsing (sorta). Girls have that pack mentality where if they see one do it, then they'll do it too. If they all legitimately were like that then theres an issue with nutrition or something.

Second, man I hate it when people "working the chute" tell me to keep moving. Its not like I'm standing still, I'm walking towards the end of the finish area. I just ran a hard 5k, 8k, 10k, whatever, and you're going to yell at me to keep moving? Suck it

bob that's right, after you finish you need to move out of the finish area or quickly to the end of the chute. There are runners behind you. If one runner stops it creates a traffic jam preventing others from finishing.

So get over yourself and move as quickly as you can to the back of the chute or out of the finish area. If you are unable to walk hopefully someone will pull your tag and take your place, while another volunteer pulls you out of the way before you cause other runners to be hindered at the finish by your inability to move.

I don't suppose it is even slightly possible that there is another explantion? What if it was really really hot? What if women just know how to dig deeper? I know, I will be bashed for even thinking such a thing. I take it back - the only explanation is that they are drama queens. Really that is just true of women in general.

I do. As I said, I don't stop and stand still. I'm moving as fast as the person in front of me many times so these times their yells aren't directed at me. Many races have a single file chute which means its going to get backed up regardless.

That is so absurd. It's freakin' 6k, not a marathon. Staggering around like that isn't the result of some "weird medical condition", it self-justification for running shitty.

(These articles are in reference to Tauro. If you're talking about the rest of the girls falling all over the place, I apologize.)

I was thinking the same thing about Tauro. I hope she gets well soon. I also believe a red shirt this season would have been great to ensure her health and complete recovery.

I know "ifs" don't count, but if Tauro had been able to merely jog those last 100 yards, Michigan would have been the team champs
