Greatest of all time: ERIC CLAPTON

dude thats what im talkin about that guy was bad ass still is keepm comin guys also id like to add the guy from radio head have u ever tried playing some of that stuff like its hard as hell and its short of genios
for pure guitarist i go with joe satriani. the guy sounds mechanical and stiff in his studio recordings but when i saw him in concert at the avalon in boston it was one of the best shows i've ever seen. the guy totally came to life in concert, amazing.
Tom Morello
Joe Satriani
Stephen Malkmus-Pavement
Vito Bratta- a certain late 80's hair band
Some other odd addtitions...
J. Mascis - Dinorsaur Jr. He could tear your head off.
Bob Stinson - Replacements. Probably a little more than 15 years, but his leads were hotter than a urinary tract infection.
Duane Denison - Used to be in Jesus Lizard and now plays in Tomahawk. Sinister.
Nick McCabe of The Verve
Marty Willson-Piper of The Church
Yeah, and the aforementioned Jack White
Its so subjective but I loved Stevie Ray
Page
Clapton
Slash
Honerable mention: Kirk Hammet for the solo on "unforgiven". masterpiece.

It is all a matter of taste, but in my books nobody can bend a string like Stevie Ray Vaughn. Any of you younger folks have not heard him or have not really set down and listend and if you enjoy some blues guitar. Go out and pick up a CD. You won't be disa.pointed
Jonny Greenwood
Thurston Moore
John Squire
Eric Johnson
