This will look jumbled but here goes:
I am 30 years old, and I live in Portland, oregon. I just got back from a camping/surfing/running weekend just east of seaside, oregon. this is not a hoax. i am telling you what i saw: we went friday night and found a good spot to camp just east of seaside- probably 4 miles on the blacktop that starts just north of the old surfshop there. we usually camp at this ame spot. it's pretty isolated and i think it's government land. there is then an old dirt logging road that goes back into the forest with little offshoots to add up to about 12 to 14 miles of incredible isolated dirt road that goes in a huge loop up along the ridge and down through the forest. we run at about 7 min pace and it takes us about 1:30 to run the whole thing- so i figure it's close to 12-14 miles. anyway, it is perfect for training. there are no people at all and definetly no cars. the road has grown up in alot of places and as usually happens in the northwest, nature has started to reclaim it as its own. we see lots of deer, sometimes elk, and have even seen bears before. some of it was clearcut obviously a number of years ago and is now grown up. some spots are still young and have not grown up at all. there are still a few clearings just below the ridge where we usually see the deer and elk. it's right off the trail and the field is about 75 meters by 50 meters. there's another field similar to this along the road. the first clearing is about 7 miles in and the second is about 10 miles into the run. either way, we are pretty far back in. it's extremely thick and dense otherwise during most of the run. we have been running out here at least since our first year out of college. we are all avid surfers and all ran in college so it's perfect because we can camp and run early on the trail then go out to seaside during the rest of the day. (no brokeback mountiain jokes please- we have heard all that from our wives and girlfriends already!). anyway, we ran as usual saturday morning and basically did an out and back 12 miler. right around the turnaround we smelled something that was the worst stench we have ever smelled. it smelled like a mix between my refrigerator in college and some old guy from a nursing home who lays in his urine all day. we didn't think anything of it and figured it was just a dead animal or something. we then cooked breakfast and went to the beach most of the day just tooling around. last night, we got back to our campsite and went to bed early around 10 after some cards. ok, no weed or alcohol used at all here. let's get that straight. i woke up last night around 2 am to the weirdest howling/scream type noise i have ever heard. like a real loud and shrill wheeeeeooooop. it lasted for about 30 minutes. needless to say, we were all pretty freaked out. we had planned to do the whole loop this morning and at around 50 minutes in, we smell that ass smell again. of course, we talked about the screams/howls for most of the beginning of the run, but we had just settled into that chill pace and were enjoying the morning without any talking. so, all of a sudden, we get to above the first clearing, smell that putrid smell, look to our left and seriosly, not 20 yards away was something i'll never forget. there was some kind of huge ape looking thing about 8 feet tall or so standing in the brush. it was covered in long brownish hair with huge hands. for some reason, i really remember the hands. it had yellowish eyes instead of white and it's face and chest were not covered as much in hair. it's arms were hanging well below its waist. it was just as shocked to see us as we were to see it. the whole encounter lasted no more than 5 seconds as we all froze and it froze. it busts off down through the brush and trees. we obviously all take off down the trail as hard as we can go and after 200 yards or so, i look back and nothing is there. we are all seriously freaked about this time. we bunch back up and we go around the next bend and not 30 seconds later, another one comes flying out of the trees on our right and passes right in front of us and runs down toward the clearing. we see it absolutely cruising through the clearing into the deeper woods on the other side. so, we finally get our wits about us and went back to where we had seen the first one and found some tracks right off the dirt logging road. they were roughly equal to about 1 1/2 times my shoes which are 11's. they were barefoot looking tracks with no arch. anyway, the smell was still there and we had this strange feeling of being watched and took off for camp the way we had come. it had taken us 50 minutes to get there, the whole episode was about 10 minutes long including looking at the tracks and everything- like typical runners we stopped our stopwatches! it then took us 39 minutes to get back to the campsite. not much was said as we were all pretty freaked on the way back. obviously, this is all we could talk about all day today. have any other people here seen something/experienced something like this? i still can't believe it. do i need to report this to the local wildlife people or something?

this is either the BEST troll I have ever seen here or the coolest non-running (per se). man.
perhaps you should legitimately check with the local TV stations' investigating team after you mention this to the local cops, who may laugh you out of the station.
try to arrange for some robot mini-cams or some adventuresome TV anchor to hide out with you near that area for a few nights.
VERY cool story no matter what.

If you want to get your story out so badly, please use paragraphs so that we can actually read that mess.

millions of people have spent their whole life looking for bigfoot and never find him. it is just impossible that with 6 billion people living on the earth no one has ever caught one or seen one more than once.
it was me

I would have believed you if you just ended at when you saw him to your left in the brush, but when another one ran right in front of you....it was all over.

Why don't you pick up a few AR-15s and head back? Even if you are being serious, there's no way anybody's going to believe you without some really concrete evidence, like a corpse. Good effort with the long story though.

nope. i'm definetly not a troll. this is the real deal. and yeah, we had considered going to the cops in seaside, but like one of the posters already, i'm sure they would assume it was all bullshit. i'm just glad i had my two buddies there to have seen it also. wow, i still can't believe this.

there's no way you could drive even a jeep back there past about 4 miles. it's way too overgrown. and there's no freaking way i'm going back there unless i do have a rifle! honestly, to joeschmoe, i really don't care if you believe me at all. i'm not here to try and convince anyone what i saw. i just wanted to know if anyone has seen anything similar and what did you do about it. should i report this to the wildlife dept or something?

lately ive been addicted to the history channel
and just watched a special on bigfoot last week, it said they have over 1000 detailed reports of sightings. so you probably could find out where to fill out a report
or like was mentioned before, go be a hero and kill the beast, then you could sell it on ebay or something

of all the 6 billion people in the world no one ever catching one makes sense. Although this turd may be trying to sound convincing he really isn't. If an animal that has evaded detection for thousands of years was anywhere near these gay freaks it could probably smell them and would be gone. They might have smelled or seen what it left behind but not actually seen it themselves since it would smelled then the day before or heard them approaching.
The reason a corpse may have never been found-cannabalism, other reasons associated with intelligence
The reason these things are so hard to find-seclusive, sloth-like, with a great sense of smell and sight, and perhaps even great intelligence and perhaps are nocturnal
The reason 6 billion people haven't found one yet-not everyone is looking for one and these things are probably very rare at the very least no more than a few thousand tops.
Until we have thousands of micro robots searching remote areas for these things (btw that would require extreme battery life or solar cells)and have concrete proof, verified many times over, until then I am skeptical. However it is still remotely possible.
PS: you can't just put cameras up everywhere its not as easy as you think and these things would know where they are, you'd also leave your smell all over it, remote viewing through a mobile unit is probably the only way.

No I've never had anything like that happen before. But it certainly matches with the Bigfoot stories that I've seen on the Discovery Channel.
You're either re-telling a Discovery Channel story. Or its true and you and your friends managed to sneak up on a creature who has been eluding cameras for 100 years or so.
If you are telling the truth then I guess that we all should be glad that a big animal like that is not agressive.
How fast was the thing running when it went in front of you?
