Air Zoom Milers are gonna be racing flats right?

I get all sweaty and anxious just looking at the pictures!

They look good, but a little thick in the heel because of the air unit? I saw a pair at the Niketown in Boston. The guy said that this is the shoe the Nike marathoners will be wearing in the Olympics.

No -- it's classified as a "lightweight trainer" essentially replacing the Swift which replaced the Spiridon of Bernard Lagat-fame. The one you may be thinking of is the Zoom Streak Eldoret -- basically the Ventulus Trainer (never put out in the US) with the Miler/Eldoret upper. But I hear they're renaming that one something else and changing the color scheme.

Are these going to get the same marketing that the Spiridon did last year? I turned down a free pair because they sucked so bad...

Are they any good? I remember you hyping some flats that are coming out this summer, but I can't remember if these are they or if it was the Ventulus-based flats.

How did you find these? I've searched some nike sites with no luck! How stupid am I?

I've heard that the Zoom Miler (the Spriridon replacement linked earlier in the thread) is a big improvement over the Spiridon and the Swift.

The Zoom Streak Eldoret (the one I am looking forward to) has the exact same midsole as the Ventulus Trainer (released only in Japan and Europe) looks as close to the ideal shoe as I have ever seen from a major manufactuer. It's low to the ground, the Phylite midsole will last the rest of your life.

Anyone know a market date for the zoom milers to be released?

Nike Streak Eldoret will be the same shoe that Nike has had for eons--started as the Nike Streak Vengeance (bright yellow--John Kagwe at NYC, Tegla, etc) then it came back as the Nike Streak Ekiden (still worn by Catherine and Dan Browne) and by far, Nike's best midsole/outsole combo. Can't wait to see em! June 1st I believe.

the eldoret flat of which you speak will be called the streak xc and will cost $65. this is per the nike holiday 04 catalog in the back of our storeroom.

I already have a pair of the Streak XC. My local running store had some in stock. They look like the Eldoret Spikes (big surprise there). only they're flats. The whole "XC" moniker is completely misleading as these are clearly road shoes.

The weight in men's size 10.5 is 6.1 ounces so the standard size for published weights (size 9) has got to be around 5.6 or lighter.

Yet with that, they still seem more substantial than the Vapors.
