The original model Jackal is a snug fitting trail shoe that can handle almost anything you can throw at it, from crusher fines to rocky high mountain trails. The cushioning is firm and responsive compared to something like a Hoka. My only beef with this shoe is the heel cup is quite stiff and can feel abrasive when walking. I had no trouble with that when I was running. Breathability is fine for all but the hottest runs. Fit was good for my narrow heel/ankles and medium to wide forefoot without being loose anywhere.
Size up one half to a full size.
