Have worn for many years. Fits my foot well and is comfortable.
I changed from New Balance 1220 to Brooks Adrennaline GTS over 10 years ago and LOVE it. I can't even imagine considering another shoe. I had been a marathon runner until the past 5or so years and now I dont run more than 10miles, sometimes 13. I dont wear the shoes for anything other than running.
One of the few shoes wide enough for my wide, flat, overpronating feet w bunion. Fit my custom orthotics. Wider and more comfy than the Ariels, which I had to stop using when they changed a past model and the trim rubbed. Of course, it's not as supportive, probably causing my bunion to worsen. And, I'm running out of Adrenaline 13s - the 14s and 15s moved the trim to where it rubs.
I have the hardest time of anyone I know finding a running shoe. Not kidding, I've even stumped Dave Jewell the shoe guy and many running specialty store/running site experts with my apparently unique reqts - wide, stability/MC, standard drop - not interested in transitioning to minimalist as I don't have the time for my 48 year old body to adjust while maintaining my training. My record is trying 17 shoes in 5 most in transitioning from Ariel to Adrenaline. Now I'm back on the hunt, and the best I can find is the new Asics Fortify in mens wide, good motion control and nice forefoot width, but loose in the heel for me. Also not sure if I can wear it without my orthotics - I'd really like to get rid of them.
Also, I run my runs - except races and the occasional outside run (trying to get more of those) on a treadmill due to when I need to get my runs in, weather, and safety concerns.
Would love help!
This shoe wasn't perfectly comfortable, but was the best that I could find at the time for my foot's characteristics (short foot, wide foot, high instep, pronation/eversion). My foot was slightly cramped in the toe-box. The shoe provided a nice roll-bar for someone who turns his foot outward (and is therefore likely to roll a foot/ankle). Its cushioning was less than I wanted, but as good as I thought I'd get. After about 200 miles (albeit spread lightly over 4 months, not 4 weeks) the cushioning wore out: I could feel it in my knees. I thought this was too short a lifespan of a running shoe, so I tried on other models of Brooks and other brands, and ultimately switched brands.
It is different than other adrenanline. It took a few runs to break in where previous versions did not. Once they broke in they are great and have keep the cushioning longer than other models. The outsersole rubber still wears out very quickly as I find that all Brooks shoes do.
So far this shoe works pretty well for me, I can get them past 400 miles if I rotate them. However, I wish there was a little more cushioning and a toebox that didn't curve in so much.
**There isn't a box below to explain why I liked/didn't like my previous shoe better, so I'm adding it up here. As far as comfort goes, I definitely liked the Guide better than the Adrenaline- however, the Guides crapped out on me around 200 miles, even when rotating them (and I'm not tough on my shoes... I'm a lightweight runner with semi-decent biomechanics), so I needed to switch to something that would last longer.
Purchased approx 25 pairs of shoe and loved previous versions. Last two pairs developed holes in the upper near toes.
I run in it. And haven't gotten injured.
Needed straight last for my foot, brooks had it. Also needed black for refereeing soccer, so have two different colors of the same model.
I've been wearing the Brooks Adrenaline for the past decade and have been reasonably satisfied and injury free, so I'll stick with them.
