Puerto Rico Athletics Classic Full Results – American Track League

The Puerto Rico Athletics Classic had stellar fields including six Tokyo Olympic champions: Elaine Thompson-Herah, Steven Gardiner, Hansle Parchment, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Athing Mu, and Ryan Crouser.

The good news was the stars delivered as five of the six Olympic champs picked up victories. The one exception? Puerto Rico’s own Jasmine Camacho-Quinn who was upset thanks to a huge pr from Alaysha Johnson.

Clayton Murphy came from behind to win the men’s 800 easily and had time to punch his hand in the air to celebrate at the finish which is exactly what Trayvon Bromell did in winning the 100m in 9.92.

Christian Taylor only managed 15.91 in his first triple jump competition since rupturing his achilles last May, but told World Athletics, “I love what I do, and I am back for the love of the sport. I am healthy and ready to do a full campaign. As defending (world) champion, I can better prepare for Eugene.” (World Athletics recap of meet here).
