October 25, 2017
The fans have spoken and the New Mexico women and Northern Arizona men are the #1 teams in the country in the first LetsRun.com NCAA Cross Country Super Fan Polls of 2017.
On the women’s side the voting was super, super tight. New Mexico and Oregon both tied with 629 points, but more of our voters put New Mexico in first (33) than Oregon (24) so New Mexico is our #1 team in the country. Conversely, that means more people put New Mexico to finish out of the top two than Oregon, and with New Mexico having some question marks about their fifth runner, that makes a lot of sense.
Colorado, San Francisco, and Arkansas rounded out the top 5 in the LRC Cross Women’s Polls.

Men’s Voting: NAU Looking to Repeat
On the men’s side Northern Arizona was a strong #1, getting twice as many (66 vs 33) first place votes as BYU. Syracuse, Colorado, Stanford and Portland filled in spots three through six. Portland only 6th in the LetsRun polls, didn’t get as much lot of love as in the coaches’ polls (#3). One school that got a ton of love in the LRC Polls was Arkansas, which clocked in at #9, despite being only ranked #27 in the coaches’ polls.

Conference Voting
Most of the conferences had a heavy favorite but expect a tight battle in the men’s Heps which is a personal favorite of LRC.
