2016 Rio Olympic Track and Field Qualifying Standards

At the IAAF Council meeting in Beijing, the IAAF approved the entry standards for the track and field action at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The standards can be found below. The standards are more lax than the standards for the 2015 IAAF Being World Championships. We’ve put the standards for Beijing below for comparison.

For events below 5000, the IAAF will once again fill the fields so you don’t necessarily need the standard to go to Rio as explained here. The US wants there to be 48 entrants in the 800 and 45 in the 1500 and steeple.
