Video of Galen Rupp Setting the American 5k Record, As Mo Farah Outkicks Him for British 5k Record

The battle between new training partners Galen Rupp and Mo Farah in the 5000m was the highlight of the Avivia Grand Prix in Birmingham on Sunday.

The duel came down to the final lap with Rupp in the lead. Mo Farah dug deep however and would come out on top with a new British record of 13:10.60.

Galen Rupp was rewarded with the American record of 13:11.54, just getting back the record from Bernard Lagat (13:11.60).
