2016 NXN Girls' Preview: Fayetteville-Manlius Favored For 10th (!!!) National Title; Consensus U.S. #1 Brie Oakley Takes on 4:07 1500 Runner Kate Murphy in Individual Race
American distance fans, it’s time to meet Brie Oakley. Oakley, who only started running last year, posted the top Tully Runners speed rating in six years at the Colorado state meet (32 secs faster than Katie Rainsbergerran in ’15) but Murphy hasn’t lost all fall and has killer track speed. Team-wise, F-M are the favorites but will need all five scorers to run well as there’s a big gap to #6.

Unbelievable: Fayetteville-Manlius Sweeps Boys' & Girls' Titles At NXN High School Team Nationals
The F-M girls were upset last year to snap their streak of seven straight NXN titles but they're back on top in 2014 and had some company on the podium; the F-M boys, runners up in 2004 and 2010, broke through to win their first NXN title. Individually, Tanner Anderson (15:11) and Allie Ostrander (17:19) got the win at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland. Pretty amazing one high school could have the best boys and girls teams in the country.
