The Saucony Ride is a good overall training shoe. It's affordable and can be used for distance runs, speed sessions, thresholds, etc...

Tried so many different brands but Saucony is my favorite and fits me the best. Ride 17s are the perfect combo of flexibility and support, plus they have some really cute color schemes!

I came to the Ride 17 after running in the Saucony Trumph for the last several years. The Ride seems to be a little more stable than the Triumph, and feels just as cushioned. As I’ve grown older (I’m 75), I’ve gone for a more cushioned shoe to help avoid injury. There’s plenty of room in the toe box, and the shoe locks down well on my narrow heel.
It’s a great shoe for easy long runs and slow recovery runs (I do speed work in the Endorphin Speed, so I don’t use the Ride for faster running).
I have run around 300 miles on my current pair and the outsole still doesn’t show much wear, so I’m sure they’ll be good for 400 miles or more.

Just solid. More cushioned than previous versions but doesn't feel mushy.
