This is the first time I've run in Hokas, and I am impressed. I'm a midfoot striker, and run 50-60 miles a week at anywhere from 8:00 pace on easy days to sub 5:00 during workouts. These shoes excel on the easy and moderate runs. While they do surprisingly well on fartleks and speed work, I much prefer a lighter shoe like the Kinvara 10 for most workouts.

I'm in the middle of my training cycle, and at 200 miles they show no significant signs of wear. This is certainly promising, but I don't know that my durability assessment is as accurate as it could be.

I’ve been a fan of the Hoka Clifton series for years. It’s the best shoe for me to log daily miles and long runs in. I typically take each pair to 500 miles before replacing. The cushioning is just right and I’m a fan of the 5 mm drop.

Ok so like I get what they're going for but I think this shoe just isn't very versatile. I like the ride on this shoe for long easy runs but for anything faster is pretty bad. As an experiment I did some 300m hill reps in them at repetition pace and they were just clunky. Obviously not the purpose of the shoe but it illustrates how one dimensional this shoe is. Great for slow easy runs but boy is it slow.

I really liked these shoes. I bought them to accompany my Carbon X and I ended up using them for more than just easy and long days. I've even ran the odd hill sprint and set of intervals in them. I was surprised that they could handle tempo paces, the only real issue was the weight.

They aren't the fastest shoes around, but that's not why you'd buy them. The comfort on runs >10miles is great.

In Nike I buy Japanese size 28.5 and did the same with the Carbon X. With the Clifton, I found 28 Wide worked well for me.

After 320 miles, I class my shoes as "dead" now. For a number of reasons:

After around 100 miles the tread started to wear away and significantly so after about 200 miles. Today I have 320 miles on my pair and the tread is completely gone in places and I am running on a mixture of foam and rubber...

The above wear is rather heavy on the outside of the shoe, which will be affecting my gait.

Likewise, the foam is showing significant compression marks. When I use these now, there is no pop at all -- I just sink into the foam. Obviously, this makes running hard! It's like running in mud. I sink straight through to the road!

If you can get these cheap then do so, but at 17000 yen / $160 they are rather pricey. Currently moved on to using some Peg 36s, which aren't as nice but I have too many shoes right now. I think if I were to replace these it would be between these and the Infinity React.

This is a great shoe to slodge easy mileage and long runs. Surprisingly, the shoe is extremely light. It is soft and is a great recovery shoe. I came away with blisters on the insides of my feet after my first run in the clifton’s but I believe that’s just the process of adjusting to a new shoe structure. HOKA is a great brand.

I cycle these shoes into my weeks of 60-80 miles. They are great for both my easy days and my longer runs. They last me about 300 miles, but are worth their value.

I love almost every part of this show, it’s incredibly comfortable and durable, and gives a lot of support for daily training. It’s a bit heavy and doesn’t have a great appearance, but it’s worth it to have the comfort I need.

A lot of good about this version. A nice upper, less constricting. The midsole has good cushion but a little on the dead side compared to other new midsole compounds. But I got black toenails and blisters on the tip of second and third toes despite trying multiple sock thickness and keeping lacing looser. One of these days they'll get it right like the OG version.

I primarily use the HOKA ONE ONE Clifton 6 as a recovery shoe, either after hard workouts or for long runs at an easy pace. The shoe has a very comfortable and cushioned feel without compromising responsiveness. Other similar cushion-y shoes can often feel blocky or heavy, but the Clifton really doesn't for the cushion it provides.

Also, the color schemes on this shoe are pretty dope (so are the color names).

I started using this shoe after I had a big injury and I’ve loved it! Great cushiness that feels really good on you’re feet.

Most notable among the changes are the flexibility of the toe section. From the first run, the tread under the toe box seems far more flexible than the Clifton 5. Some would call this greater road feel on push off. I found it distracting and potentially resulting in greater strain in the long run.
