This is my new go-to trainer(.)
The Pegasus Turbo should not be called a Pegasus, it just doesn't do it justice. Aside from the silhouette of the shoe there is nothing in common with the regular Pegasus 35. The upper of this shoe is much more plush than the regular Pegasus model. The react/zoomx midsole also sets this shoe apart from any other Nike shoe. The react/zoomx combination provides a responsive and well-cushioned ride like none other on the market. The design/color scheme on these shoes is also different than the Pegasus 35 and, in my opinion, the turbos look much more sleek and attractive.
I personally have nothing I would change about them, however, a friend had his pair get snagged on some bushes while trail running and tear the upper slightly. On my pair however, no durability issues whatsoever. The price point is another place where you may be turned off, however, if you are serious about running, then paying the extra $50 for a premium product that is MUCH better than the original should be an easy decision to make.
Nike got it right with their Zoom Pegasus 35 Turbo. The ZoomX midsole couples great cushioning with excellent energy return. Quite stable compared with say the Nike ZoomX Invincible.
The Pegasus Turbo 1 or "Peg Turbs" as I call it, is one of the best shoes that Nike has released so far. Coming from a 1,500m and 5,000m track runner. I am on the roads and the track almost twice a day going for a workout, a jog, or just running drills and I can say that the Peg Turbs is my go to shoe for it. If you want to run fast intervals around the track or roads this shoe does the job perfectly. Or if you want to just go for a slow paced run this shoe can withstand the comfort of a long slow distance.
The Pegasus Turbo can still get the job done even after 500km. I've ran my Pegasus Turbo almost every for 1 year and the sole isn't banged up yet.
I really enjoyed running in these shoes and loved the way they looked and fit as soon as i took them out of the box! I am still currently using them in track pre-season and they have held up very well in road running.
I've tried several different types of shoes in the past including Asics, Hokas, other Nike models etc. and have always had knee/foot problems or shin splints. These Nikes are the best running shoes I've ever bought and I intend to buy another pair. I've been able to run farther and faster in these shoes and get closer to my goal of running a half, with no injuries so far. They are very cushioned and comfortable for long runs. Highly highly recommend these shoes for distance running.
Great shoe, the cushion is soft and cush at easy pace then becomes super springy at speed and is soo light and consistent.
A bit like the altra the one of yesteryear, slipper like and super light, but with serious durability. At over 500miles and a slightly taller (heavier) runner these are solid, the cushion is still predictable and weirdly the insoles are still almost perfect.
Great versatile shoe, bit sloppy in bad conditions and expensive but I would probably say worth it!
Great shoe to rotate in with your everyday trainer (mine was the Pegasus 35) for a long run, steady state, or even some longer tempo work. Felt great, springy and a little bit faster than normal Pegasus. Would only get these below retail though because for 180 they’re durability is lacking.
I like the turbo better then the regular 35 because they are lighter and more responsive! Great for forefoot running!
This is a shoe who is pretty fast, and good looking. It`s almost like running on pillows, and still responsible.
I got this expensive shoe thinking that because it was very popular, fancy, and high tech, it would be perfect. Well... It may not have been perfect for me. I think one of the biggest issues was that I thought I could use this shoe for all different types of runs. I run on trails, dirt roads, gravel, rocks, grass, and paved roads. This shoe was definitely not meant to handle all of that. I found that my feet really started to hurt during my long runs (10km on uneven surfaces) and it really felt like I could feel all of those little rocks beneath my feet. I also have flat feet (not high arches), I’m pretty sure my feet supinate, and I seem to be prone to hip/groin injuries. I don’t know if these shoes were designed with my issues in mind, and I really wish I would’ve done more research on them and found a better shoe for ME.
Provides great cushioning, yet feels more responsive than any other softer sole shoe I've worn. As you start to push the pace, seems to get even more responsive.
