I'm in my second pair of these guys because they just work. I only run once or twice a week and also wear them casually. Their solid enough to be active in, but casual enough to just wear around town, too. I've run/walked up to a 50-mile ultra in them, I've worn them to the bar on the weekends, and they've worn I would on average or a little better than average pace. The generous and grippy rubber sole is a huge bonus, as you never wear it out - just flatten out the foam over time and develop tears in the upper. It's best-selling on Amazon for good reason. Cons - not super light-weight or responsive. Just a solid budget running shoe.
I've had the gel-venture 5 and 6 as well, and continue to be a fan of this shoe series with the 7.
I mostly run on dirt trails but these shoes have performed well on the occasional road event as well. They're a supportive neutral shoe that has kept my tendency towards runner's knee at bay. My 5 & 6 were still going strong after 1000 kms and I'm pretty sure this latest in the rugged gel-venture lineup will pass that milestone comfortably.
Recommended for the budget conscious trail and occasional road runner.
