Kishane Thompson Blasts 9.75 (#6 All-Time) at Jamaican Champs, as 20-Year-Old Tina Clayton Triumphs

Olympic 100-meter silver medalist Kishane Thompson blasted a 9.75 100 meters in Kingston, Jamaica, on Friday night — not only to win the 2025 JAAA/Puma Nationals, but also to move up to #6 on the all-time 100-meter list. Behind him, Oblique Seville (9.83) and Ackeem Blake (9.88) were very quick to round out a formidable Jamaican team for Worlds.

Thompson burst onto the scene at last year’s nationals, winning the Jamaican title in 9.77 after running 9.84 or better in all 3 rounds. Then, he went on to claim silver in Paris.

Now in 2025, Thompson is even faster. He equaled Yohan Blake’s meet record from 2012, where Blake defeated soon-to-be repeat Olympic champion Usain Bolt.

Seville suffered from hamstring problems before the start of the final but was able to put up a very strong performance and book his spot on the team in second.
