LRC editor’s note: Mo Farah was set to make his 2014 Diamond League track debut this weekend in Scotland, but that has been called off because of a medical condition. Press release from Mo’s agent below. 2014 has been a tough year for Mo medically as earlier this year, Mo passed out after the NYC Half Marathon.
Mo Farah has been forced to cancel his participation in the 2 miles at the Sainsbury’s Glasgow Grand Prix due to illness. The double Olympic and World Champion was admitted to hospital in the USA with abdominal pains for a couple of days last week and is undergoing further testing in the UK with British Athletics medical team this week. He hopes to compete in the 2 miles at the London Anniversary Games on July 20 instead. He plans to be back in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games at the end of the month.
Quote from Mo –
“Sorry to everyone in Scotland but I won’t be able to make it there this week. I hope to resume training in the next few days and aim to run in the London Anniversary Games on July 20 and then the Commonwealth Games the following week.”
