Speaking of Al Lawrence; one of the best lessons I've learnt would have to be a story he tells: one of the runners he coaches came to him after receiving the day's workout and said, "But coach, I can do this!" He said, "That's the whole point!"
Thanks for joing us, Dr. Daniels. Great to hear from one of the "real" men for Arthur could not be with us... Of course, if he could, he would yell at me, "How dare you saying I don't understand aerobic and anaerobic...!"
Here's another story--pretty much what Dr. Daniels himself said (of Lydiard); I remember when I first got together with Dick Quax; I was obsessed to find out the difference between intervals and repetition; hill bounding and hill running; etc. He just said, "I don't give a damn what you call them as long as you know what you're doing."
