Not that Nobby hasn't covered this, but if you want to asee Lydiard's ideas applied to someone who was going to have multiple or extended racing programs, a good place to look would be at Rob DeCastella's training with Pat Clohessey.
Clohessey is a Lydiard guy. He toured Europe with Arthur's guys in the early 60s. But when he began coaching in Oz many years later found that things had changed and that athletes wanted to be in form for more than just one peak season per year. So he created an adaption of Arthur's ideas that would allow that.
