RE: Kate Grace Revenge Tour, Minsk: 1/2 second PB
As brutal as it sounds, 4:02 is almost worthless internationally and even not competitive with the best in the US. At DL London the first 6 women ran sub 4:01 with a sub 60 last lap and this included relative "no-names" like McDonald and four of the best 1500m runners (Hassan, Dibaba, Kipyegon, Houlihan) weren't even in the race.

1:58 is much closer to an international final or medal than 4:00 nowadays, partly because half a dozen or more of (potential) 1:56-58 runners (Muir, Hassan, Kipyegon, Dibaba, Houlihan, Koko...) run 1500 up instead of 800/1500. The bad luck is of course, that the US does already have 3-4 of the 1:58 or faster runners but Grace might be closer to qualifying over that distance. In any case internationally 1:58 is clearly more valuable than 4:02 or even 4:00.
