She takes a full 1/2 second off her PB at the Europe v. USA Match, going from 4:02.99 to 4:02.49. It's impressive that she did it so late in the season in a low key race.
What about next year? 800? 1500?
So you're impressed that she ran fast late in the year when her training schedule is supposed to allow her to run fast? Don't get me wrong, kudos to her and a PR but idk why you think this is a big deal. I'm sure her training was intended for her to run fast at the WC if she qualified. She didn't qualify but she still did all the work so I would expect her to run well.
As for the low-key race. Alan Webb ran the AR in a race that was basically by himself. If you're ready to run fast, you'll run fast.
For next year, it's 1500 or bust.
