RE: Bobby Lockhart as new Cal XC/Distance coach
Lots of pointless talk here about things that happened way in the past. It's way more interesting to talk about coaching and the recent performance of Cal as a XC team.
Cal has always had an extremely talented roster, but the coaches always ended up injuring them and ruining their season. If there would be a reward for top under-performing XC team, Cal would be a strong candidate for 1st place.
The combo of Bethan Knights/Brie Oakley had so much potential, but Cal failed to develop them properly. Last season, both of them were injured and missed the majority of races. Even on the men's team, Corcoran was injured most of last XC season which caused him to underperform even though he was able to still race at least.
Give Cal a proper coach that keeps the top runners healthy and the team will be top 20 again, at least on the women's side.
