I'm the OP, and I was owned on this one. 9.92 and a loss to Gatlin.
Pretty sure Lyles is only going for the 200 after that. I haven't seen the race footage, though, so I have no idea how he ran. I can only assume Lyles start was next to atrocious. Honestly, 9.92 after a 19.50 is pretty disappointing. He may never figure out his start, and that's so weird.
It's kind of interesting that Lyles is so talented and has such a bad start, and Coleman is so spectacular for 60/70 meters and has such a terrible final 30/40. It's a little weird that they haven't shows signs of figuring out those flaws more.
At this point, I'm ready to say that Coleman would actually beat Lyles over 100m more often than not, now. It would, indeed, be wise for Lyles to just run the 200 in Doha.
