RE: Shoes for achilles and shin pain
One of my biggest pet peeves when I used to work at a LRS was people coming in looking for shoes to fix their problems. First, go ask a doctor if you're having injury problems, not a retail associate. Second, it's probably not the shoes, it's probably you. People aren't limited to one single pair of shoes that will only ever work for them. The human body is more adaptable than it gets credit for, it's just that most people don't train correctly. Burn it down and start over. Rest up, get healthy, then when you start running again, ease into it so your body can keep up and recover along the way, then gradually build up so you can condition your body to deal with more stress. Introduce different types of paces, terrain, shoes, etc as you build up, do it smart, and your body will be more resilient to different types of stresses. Soreness and aches are fine, that's how exercise works, your body gets beat up a bit and rebuilds itself stronger, but if you're getting hurt or injured, then you're doing too much and need to reel it in.
