RE: Noah Lyles Will Run in the Vicinity of 9.77 Tomorrow
A bold prediction, but I don’t think that Monaco is a fast sprint track. Anybody going 9.7 there would be 9.6-capable.

Remember Dolt. He was a tall guy with no start, and not enough turnover because of his long limbs. He was never expected to be a force in the 100m, until he was. Shortly after he started the 100m: BAM, 9.72 at sea level in NYC, with a decent start and good turnover.

Theo might be similar raw material. If they could get Dolt to 9.5, IMO they could reasonably get Theo to 9.6. He’s got it all except for a start/early acceleration mechanic.

Can he get it this year? Dolt got it really fast, no reason to think that Theo couldn’t do the same, he seems healthy and motivated.

If Gatlin decides to go hard, this will be a burner of a race because Theo always goes hard, which is why it’s great to watch him race.
