I don't know a ton about Putin, but just about every time I listen to his public comments / speeches on YouTube I tend to agree with the things that he says. He's extremely pragmatic and sensible. Of course, these are just words coming out of his mouth. The things that he does might be different, but I don't know enough about those things to comment. But the point is that I have a hard time finding fault in ideas and concepts he promotes in his public appearances. That's only true for probably 40% of the US politicians I hear and about 1% of the other Euro politicians I hear.

Sure, Putin's actually a pretty good guy. Just ask the numerous people he's had murdered; they won't utter a word of disagreement.
