Everyone under 4 hours got a certificate. Medals went to the top 25 and later to the top 100. It was beef stew that you got at the finish.


HRE, that is a great story from George Hirsch, it brings back fond memories. I still have three finishers medals, and I remember people asking me, you run all those miles everyday and you only came in 76th? People had no idea that I was ecstatic coming in 76th. People at that time had no idea about running, people would yell obscenities at you on training runs and throw things at you out the window of their car, we were a real oddity back then.......but I loved it.
