Pancakes? I remember in 1962 we reported to the school gym in Hopkinton for a quick medical check and were then off to warmup. The Finns got 1-2 with Alex Breckenridge of the USMC in third. My future clubmate with the Los Angeles Track Club, the late Orville Atkins was fifth while my training partner, Dick Haines was 9th.
