RE: Frank Meza 2:53:10 at LA Marathon (70 years old) unoffical time (just finished)
I have run with him before, but have never seen him run really much faster than 8 minute pace or so, but I think that's just how he trains.

I have never seen him personally race, so I cannot attest to much on that side. Of course, I had known about his very quick and rather astonishing accomplishments as a marathoner and his records for his age groups for a while, and I always personally wondered how he did not seem to receive more spotlight attention for his quick times.

As far as all of the questions being raised here, I have no personal stake in it, and I can agree that some of this stuff being presented is not the best look for him; however, I can't really say whether or not he is guilty or innocent.

The one thing that makes me question it is that he really has no care for the spotlight and is a really humble and wise guy, so I can't really wrap my mind around why he would want to and what incentive he would have to fake marathon times.

I don't even know if he knows this thread is going on--I don't think of him as a guy who spends a lot of time online and checking running forums.
