RE: British babe stunds 4 Ethiopians to win womens' 3000 in K
Courtney has outdoor PBs of 4:03, 8:39 and 15:04, so she was certainly among the favorites (although most would have expected Tsegay to be stronger). It was a somewhat strange race. The pacing was a little too fast (2:52-53 but there was a gap to the field) and after the pacer left there was a very slow 40 seconds lap. Then Reh took over the lead and ran ~35 sec. laps which led to a gap between the first five and the rest. Now Reh is very slow compared to 1500m runners (4:13 1500m), so it was to be expected that she would be passed on the last lap but she got the 4th place back from Koster on the home straight.
