Maybe you could explain what you dont like about them?

Take a moment and try to visualize what the layout for the shuttle hurdles would look like with the 1st mens 42 inch hurdle set 13.72 m from the start with 9.14 meters between and a 14.02 run in next to a lane of 33 inch hurdles the first 13 m from the start with 8.5 m between and a 20.5m dash to the finish line.
This crackpot set-up is going to attract throngs of fans to the stadium-- seriously?!?
A 45s lap a 52s lap a 45 s lap followed by a 45s lap-- sounds more like work out plan than a compelling race.

Im not sure why the layout of the hurdles is a negative, it seems fine to me. It shouldnt be very hard to follow for even a random non track fan.

No, it wont attract throngs of people, but i think it will be more likely to push a casual fan off the fence and get them to watch it.

I agree about the 2x2x400, I had thought it was just a mixed gender 4x4. I do think a mixed gender 4x4 is fun to watch.
