Honorable mention. A disappointing race (or maybe race director?), would be this year's Reebok (formerly Tufts) 10K for Women. A turnaround was shortened last minute by 150 meters for a 10k that was really only 9.7k. Before it was known that the course was short, the Boston Globe released an article titled "Emily Sisson sets US 10K record in winning Reebok Boston race" for her 30:39 performance. SMH.
"Sisson checked her watch twice at the mile four mark. "I have raced here maybe three or four times, and I love it here. I felt really good [at mile four], and I wondered what I ran - [my watch read] 4:05 and I said, 'I don't feel that good,'" laughed Sisson."
