RE: Is bringing down a 22:30 minute 5k down to 19:5X in 5 months possible?
My first 5k was 43 minutes 5 years ago when i was 50lbs heavier. I don’t consider myself a newbie as I am not exactly new to “running” because I have actually been doing it for a few years (mostly high intesnity with no volume though - rarely over 20mpw) although I have done a lot of cycling over the years so I don’t think I am going to get any newbie gains at this point, it’s not as though I have NO aerobic base. I am 110lbs and have a resting heart of 45. Improvement at this point is going to be due to increased conditioning.
