I don't think RPI can be that good unless you think RPI had a bad day at Liberty Leagues. I don't think RIT is better than Oneonta
When you look at results you see 21 points between RPI and RIT. It was a small meet even if it is more top heavy than the SUNYAC. However, what is not obvious by the team score is RPI having their 2nd 20 seconds in front of RIT's 1, and 7 in front of RIT 4, 10 in front of 5. THIS was RIT's best day of the season, and perhaps RPI's as well. RIT will only get better between then and a week from now as Feigel was their 5th and will be 2nd by regionals.
Also 21 points from 27-48 is a much bigger gap to close than 48-69 as the avg time per team shows:
Oneonta and SLU will be close, but the edge goes to SLU.
Geneseo- (pedigree, belief & coach)
RPI- (good top 2, deep after that)
RIT- (performed when it mattered last year, doing it again)
SLU- (better top 2 helps in bigger meet, and a better 5 and a more trusted coach with a deeper bench)
Oneonta- (live and die by the pack of top 4 and unlikely to have the same race as pregional, 5th and beyond are no good, new coach)
